GG 2008
Gordon reflects on the past year:
This year has been without a doubt VERY special for me having reached the grand old age of 60 with most of my faculties still intact... grin.

I had a wonderful birthday shared with family and special friends. The concerts in the main have been memorable particularly Brum Town Hall with my friends Rick Wakeman, Ray Burley and John Etheridge. Receiving my Lifetime Achievement Award was just so special and it's good to know that my work over the past 42 years has been acknowledged by a few folk. I'm a very luck bunny.

The handful of 'Up Close and Intimate' shows have gone swimmingly well and we look forward to doing more of these type of events next year sharing special occasions with lovely people.

Hilary and I would like to thank you all for attending the concerts throughout 2008 and our special thanks go to Sue Holton for ALL her hard work along with hubby Mike and to my agent Sue Webster who is without doubt one of the best in the business. I would like to thank my lovely Hilary, because without her I just wouldn't function on ANY level... It must be me age.

We sincerely wish you all a stunning Christmas and a healthy and happy 2009.

In the December news page on the website - https://giltrap.co.uk/index.php?page=news&display=1974 - there are mentions for FOREVER GOLD a piece Gordon wrote for Sir Cliff Richard, a YouTube link so you can hear him playing the piece and a picture of GG, Cliff and fans.
You will also find details of the major guitar exhibition celebrating the art of the British guitar maker held at The Hub in Sleaford Lincolnshire at which GG played a brief concert and has loaned his 1968 John Bailey twin neck guitar.


2009 should see a wealth of GG material becoming available for your collection. There should be the re-release of As It Happens, the long-awaited release of  the From Brush And Stone album with Rick Wakeman, a new GG book which contains many pieces from that mid seventies, a Mel Bay DVD.. And also, GG live performances, a short tour in late 2009 by the guitar trio Three Parts Guitar and Gordons column continuing in Acoustic Magazine. Looks like the old boy is going to have a busy year!


DAVY GRAHAM R.I.P.
It is with great sadness that we have to report the death of Davy Graham. We don't have any details beyond the fact that he passed away on 15th December from cancer.
Gordon has paid tribute to the great man in the December news page on his website and has put a brief line on the "More Music" page of the Forum and will be adding and inviting folk to leave their own messages about the passing of this remarkable guitarist.
