As my 50th birthday was fast approaching we wanted to provide a party for all our close friends and family. My wife, Anne, asked what would be my ideal party. Having been a fan of Gordon's for twenty or so years I thought it would be great to have him play at my party.  

We contacted Sue Holton, who was charming and most helpful. The date was arranged and the venue was our local pub/restaurant that provides great Thai food.



Gordon was brilliant from the moment we met ! Our guests were an eclectic mix of young and old. Gordon provided the perfect balance of music and (legendary !!) stories. Everyone was entranced. All our guests stayed until the end when much to Gordon's surprise I presented him with a memento of the evening. Gordon was most generous with his time, signatures and posing for photographs.






The evening concluded with a cunning test from Gordon….. After we had helped pack his car (I always had a secret desire to be a roadie !) he returned rather quickly, with a flat tyre. I am pleased to say that several of us set to and Gordon was soon on his way.

In conclusion, the party was brilliant. We will all remember it fondly, our enjoyment was enhanced by Gordon and Hilary sharing it with us.
