Question about Headwind

Postby Wonder » Wed Sep 23, 2015 3:40 am

Hello Gordon. I hope you are doing well. I have a question for you about your great song
"Headwind" I heard a version of this song which is a little different from either of the two tracks
which appear on The Peacock Party.
Since I noticed you also recorded tracks for the library music label KPM, I was wondering if you
possibly re-recorded Headwind under another title and released it on a KPM album?
Hopefully you can shed light on this particular version. Thanks.

Hello there.

Yes,it is very possible that a separate version and title for the library was recorded, but my memory is not as good as it used to be.

I'm doing OK since being diagnosed with cancer three months an a bit ago.

Be well

G.

Hello,

Another version of Headwind can be heard on "The Band Live 1981".

All the best,

Piotr

There were a few Giltrap/Giltrap and Edwards library music albums in the early 80s. Of them I@ve only managed to track down a copy of "Soundwaves" which doesn't have a version of Headwind but does have the BBC World Bowls version of Brutus (slightly different to the "Music For The Small Screen" version) and an early version of "A Christmas Carol" simple known on the album as "Carol".

The other one I have seen online but not seen in person was called "In at the deep end" which is listed as GG, RE and the GG Band. That might be a prospect for a version of Headwind? I've also seen another called "Action World" featuring mostly a guy called KEith MAnsfield but also with several variants of a GG track...

Cool, looks like it's on a KPM library album called Guitar Masterclass

And looking at the names on the track list it surely must be one...
