Sad to see the passing of Jim Marshall
Where would the sound of Rock guitar be without the Marshall amp?
There can't be many guitarists who haven't tried or had one at some point.
RIP JIM

Re: Jim Marshall
I was so sad when I heard this. I met and chatted to him at the odd London Guitar Show over the years. He always seemed like such a nice man, down to earth and a total gent.
I think that a lot of that was shown by the fact that a few of those chats were while he was personally setting up the Marshall stand, rolling up wadges of posters and fliers and sticking elastic bands round them for punters to pick up. There's not a lot of Founders and Chief Execs of large, world-beating companies would be found doing that on the morning of a trade show...
I'm not surprised that every personal eulogy I've seen from muso chums who properly knew him on a professional and personal basis has repeated exactly the same sentiment. Lovely guy and he will be very sadly missed.

Re: Jim Marshall
Very sad news and a great loss to the world of music. Jim Marshall along with Leo Fender, Les Paul and Bob Moog, changed the face of music over the decades with amazing innovation, commitment and a true love for music. Jim gave the power to guitarists to expand beyond their wildest dreams and there are few guitarists that have not, at one time, used a Marshall amp for that amazing Marshall power and sound. His legacy will continue to inspire musicians for decades to come. A personable and gentle man with a true love for his art. He will be sadly missed. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family.
