Good news!

This is the place to discuss music-related topics by "other artists". No Gordon Giltrap connections needed. Who have you seen? Who do you like? Who should we know about?

Good news!

Postby Russ Gannicott » Fri Jan 15, 2010 7:53 pm

A certain 'fine young blues player' (Gordon's words!!) has just won himself a major industry endorsement. Ash is to be endoresed by Danelectro and should shortly be taking delivery of one of their limited edition (50 world wide) Eric Clapton psychadelic DC59's. It would appear that they want a young player over here to champion their brand to a younger market...all good news for Ash then!!

Watch this space guys!

Well done Ash...
We are very pleased for you.
Great to see companies having the foresight to approach younger players as well as older players. A nice guitar too. (Pictures please)
Congratulations, and let's hope other companies also take note :D
Best wishes

Hi Russ and Ash.

Just seen this posting cos been away for the weekend handing out awards ironically for the Classic Rock Society!

This is TREMENDOUS news...I am SO pleased for you as a family.

JHS are the distributors I believe? If this is the case we are all in good company. JHS are the people we are dealing with for the GG Armstrong signature guitar. They are a good bunch of folk up there in Leeds.

Once again....well done and well deserved!

Ash has now got the new 'Dano' wow....what a guitar! Nicely set up, great sound and the most disgusting colour scheme you have ever seen on a guitar.....unless you are a teenager, then it's really cool!

This weekend Ash is in the studio with the band working on an album worth of classic blues numbers, but is taking time out for a photo shoot. The photo will re-create the 'alternative' Blind Faith album cover (the yanks wouldn't release the album with the controversal 'girl and aeroplane' cover) which depicts Clapton with the psychadelic Danelectro.
The weird bit is the attention to detail the lads are going to - Ash has sourced a pretty authentic outfit - white pumps, red socks, black jeans (ok so far) along with a black t-shirt on top of a flowery shirt and black and white scarf! Nice. I will post the picture when it's finished!!!
Russ
