The Fleece at Brettforton

Postby John Adams » Mon Apr 26, 2010 3:26 pm

Gordon has been patron of the Tracy Sollis Leukaemia Trust for 16 years and the trip to The Fleece Inn located in the beautiful Cotswold village of Brettforton for the Tracy Sollis Leukaemia Trust fund raising concert (always on or around St George’s Day) has become a special event to look forward to!
Not only was there a fantastic performance by the maestro but there was a raffle and a chance to win a guitar customised (and signed) by Gordon, however I hadn’t expected to see Gordon signing each of the six (free range) eggs won as a raffle prize!!
Gordon’s faultless performance was warmly received by an appreciative audience as he demonstrated his unique style, the audience sat spellbound as we enjoyed tunes both new and old – the final rehearsal before the start of the Shining Morn Tour in Wakefield on Thursday.
We enjoyed the full “Shining Morn Set” plus a couple of extras which were greatly appreciated and a modified version of Dodo’s Dream which continues to evolve!
Once again Mike did a great job on the sound and Sue Sollis maximised the opportunity for fund raising -well done! Photography was by Sue Holton and Alex so there should be some great photographs to see on the GG web site in the next few weeks?

Hi John,

Trust that you and Pauline are well.

Fiona and I attended the Saturday evening concert at the Fleece and were bowled over by the charismatic venue, the important work of the Tracy Sollis Trust and of course and as usual Gordon's wonderful music.

Looking forward to the Shining Morn events and seeing some of the promised embarrassing pictures of the Troubadour.

See you later

Keith

Sorry we missed you both - Brettforton is always a great venue in a beautiful location with a fantastic atmosphere! It's very satistying to know that the money raised is going to such a good cause - as if we need an excuse to visit a GG concert!

I'm looking forward to Thursday in Wakefield!
