St. George's Day.....

Postby Roger » Sun Apr 22, 2007 10:02 pm

......is a day that should be celebrated by us English, particularly as it's my Father's Birthday (he's 81 this year)! After all, during the 15th century it was on a par with Xmas and hopefully one day St.George's Day will be recognised again on a level akin to those national days celebrated by our Welsh, Scottish and Irish cousins.

So let's all raise a glass to our patron saint (and my Dad!)tomorrow.

Roger (&Em)

PS Nice to see you on the new forum Colin(F)!

I'm not one for Patron Saints days I'm afraid, but I wish your father a very happy birthday. BTW, St. George was Turkish and St. Patrick was born in Britain, so we could be celebrating the wrong day!
