Devon Double Cream

Postby John Adams » Sun Aug 10, 2008 8:42 am

Two great concerts in Devon at two very different venues! Thursday it was Otteron Mill, a working water mill in South Devon where the audience sat under umbrellas through a gentle rain fall whilst Gordon performed to his usual high standard, enthralling everyone with his music. We were able to share in the development of a new (yet unnamed) commission piece which I predict will be very big for Gordon.
The Dodo’s Dream, as usual left everyone in awe of Gordon’s ability and once again was the major talking point for the evening. Ives Horizon (now becoming a regular) sounded great on the new Fylde 12 string and is becoming one of our favourites! Friday was a different day altogether, the sun was out and it was a very pleasant drive across to North Devon to The George at South Molton, Gordon played to a packed house with all the seats taken and people standing! A different set kept us entertained for a great evening of fabulous music, with the inclusion of, the always popular God Save the Queen, many of our favourites, some interesting recollections and display of Gordon’s talent. The return of the “request book” meant that the second half included a wide variety of Gordon’s tunes both old and new and proved to be very popular. Thank you to all involved for a great couple of days.
