Holmfirth Picturedrome - 16th November

As soon as we spotted Gordon was coming to our home town we had to book! Especially as we spend much of the year in Greece these days, and don't get as many opportunities to see the maestro as we used to.
Although we saw Gordon with Rick in Birmingham, this was the first chance to see Oliver.
What an excellent pairing! As Gordon mentions elsewhere, they really are tight now. You could see the effort both put in to make it a powerful duet, playing together, as opposed to playing alongside, each other.
With John Lee's Barclay James Harvest to follow, the set was far too short! However, Gordon and Oliver managed to cram in a sample from both their back catalogues, as well as some stuff from Ravens. A good mix of well-known old favourites and new tunes as well. There were a fair few of us who cheered when Gordon announced a track from Fear of the Dark! (I remember when I asked Gordon if he would do something from that LP a few years back, in Halifax, the reply was, "I don't do anything from that now." We're glad things change!)
We have seen Gordon in a wide range of venues over the years, and, as a local, I feel I should apologise for the squalor, and poor sound, of this venue. Nonetheless, it was a great evening!
Thank you Gordon and Oliver!
