Re: Les Pauls

I grew up listening to my brother's rock records which included much Thin Lizzy. I saw them twice before they split up, once with Snowy White and once with John Sykes. The sound which they got from their twin Les Pauls was stunning. So I will nominate... Scott Gorham, Brian Robertson Gary Moore Snow...

Re: Ravens and Lullabies OUT NOW

Get them while you can. Frankly the bonus disc alone is good enough to warrant an album release in its own right. The live tracks are great but the version of Praeludium (taken from JS Bach's Well Tempered Clavier in subtle prog stylee) and the re-imagining of Roots are absolutely astonishing!

Re: GG Live Album?

Bizarre.. the inclusion of Chambertin, Angie and Kaz together seems to peg it as a recording from around maybe 2000-2003? The set list certainly doesn't coincide with any official GG live album that I've seen. Wonder if Gordon did a radio broadcast concert from around that time? If so, it could be a...

Re: Bert Jansch Celebration

How great that you've been invited to perform and how right too. I recall taking a friend to see you play many moons ago at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on the South Bank - must have been around 2004 or 5 or 6? We had great seats in the third row right in the middle and I remember, about two tunes in, r...

Wish I was more local and free that night!

I think that's a fair comment!

Re: Progressive Music Awards 2013 nomination

We wuz robbed!!!!! Still, in a field as exalted as that even to be nominated was an honour... And Marillion, Spock's Beard and Devin Townsend all missed out too. A big round of applause to both Gordon and Oliver on the nomination and hope that the awards ceremony was fun. Oliver was there and had a...

Re: Another great Giltrap reissue...

. So I wonder what favourite Everyone's favourite GG cover is? I like the one from Elegy.... Scott The joker in me wants to say "Oh Well" by Fleetwood Mac ( I hope Gordon takes this opportunity to share his Peter Green anecdote. It's been a while since I heard that in gig banter). Serious...

Re: Not music but some unofficial merch...

Aaah, Keith... I'd not spotted that. Hadn't remembered seeing that in the news at all. I wondered what thought process led to the company finding that image to offer as a kit for budding cross stitchers. It now becomes obvious, of course. You're right Gordon, it certainly does look lovely. My better...

Re: Telecasters

Chris Spedding (once saw him do a trio with John Williams and Paco Pena, but it was in Guildford and some of the audience objected to the sacrilege!) Chris Spedding is a great player (going a bit off topic here). Had the pleasure of seeing him playing guitar in the live version of "Jeff Wayne'...
