Re: Truss Rods in " Concert Size " Electro Classical Guitar
Hi Sam Welcome to the forum. The YL on your guitar usually means yellow, so I would imagine you have a spruce top or something yellowish. If you are looking for a new Classical guitar I would check out Ray Burley’s signature models (Santos and Vintage models). His website may give more information. ...

Yep! The same response I have had several times now. Hopefully, 'Loren' will be included when the programme is aired. This seems to be their normal response however you contact them. -------------- Thank you for contacting the BBC. We will reply to your enquiry if we can but cannot promise to answer...

Stourton Hall
What a lovely setting for Gordon’s first concert of the year. Stourton Hall is in the grounds of the National Trusts Stourhead near Warminster. A beautiful place with a lakeside walks and beautiful statues and buildings dotted around, made famous by the small bridge in the film ‘pride and prejudice’...

Re: Ooooooouch!
Nice! :D No short cuts I afraid. It is a little easier on big stretches if you raise the headstock a few inches. This makes it a little more natural for the arm/hand (works when beginning barre chords too) but just the willingness to keep on practicing is the only way to get it :D (or a God given ta...

Re: Introductory Hello
Hi Keith Welcome to the forum. You'll find plenty of like minded people here and lots of encouragement and advice. When you do get to a Gordon concert get Creating the Dream from the merch table. Gordon and I collaborated to produce Tabs, DVD and CD showing how to play The Dodo's Dream from the Peac...

Re: Les Pauls
Always found LPs a little too bulky but that didn’t stop me craving one because of the sound. Here is my list cut down as much as possible.
Les Paul, Peter Green, Slash, Paul Kossoff, Peter Frampton, Joe Bonamassa, Jan Akermann, Snowy White, Billy Gibbons, Gary Moore and Lenny Kravitz

Love Strats. With the right set-up they play themselves. Here is my list cut down as much as possible. :D Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Hank Marvin, Adrian Gurvitz (now Curtis) of Gunn, Yngwe Malmsteen, Ritchie Blackmore, Dave Gilmour, Robbie Robertson, Eddie Van Halen (early...

Re: New on the GG forum and amazed...
Ah Yamato! I think this badge was manufactured by Tombo which made a lot of different types of guitars back in the 70s (before the lawsuits). I have still got an Angellica LP Recording copy (another Tombo badge) which I just couldn’t get rid of (most Angellicas were acoustic but a few Electrics got ...

Re: Help on choosing my next acoustic
Hi Matt The GG Signature is a JHS/Vintage guitar, not Aria, and is a wonderful guitar and a very good price. The others are also good but cost more. The only thing these have that the GG model doesn’t is that they have a cut-away which makes it easier for playing higher on the fretboard. If you get ...

Re: New on the GG forum and amazed...
Welcome Matt! You’ll find everyone on the Forum to be as helpful as they can on any guitar related subject, and most of the time you’ll get too many answers to know what to do with :D . Most of us love guitars, be they acoustic or electric and all are fans of our Gordon. If you want to get into play...

Hi Kevin Already emailed them the day after the concert :D to make the same request. If you go on the BBC or BBC4 website there is a contact area which allows you to email them. They will acknowledge that it has been received and pass it on to the right person but will not enter into conservation Ho...

Re: Acoustic partial capo column
Hi all
You might also like to look at the third hand capo (if you can get one). Although it's a strap version it is a great version that gives you any conotation by a series of turning semi circles

Re: Bert Jansch Celebration
Great news Gordon – and as Kevin said ‘as it should be’. We are unlikely to be able to make it but, with any luck, it will be covered by a TV company (maybe Sky Arts or BBC Four) hopefully. Can’t believe we weren’t able to make the whole group concert at Gloucester!
Be well

Re: Telecasters
Totally agree with Russ. I bought a Tele is the early 70s for my band as 5 songs needed the Tele sound. It was the wrong decision. Not because of the guitar but because I only needed it for a few songs. After about 8 months I sold the Tele and bought a Jedson Tele copy. I should have done this at th...
