Cassington

My son has just come home and told me about a concert in our next village, Cassington in Oxfordshire on Oct 4th. Fantastic! In the late 60s, early 70s I ran The IOW Folk Club at The Sloop Inn and played in the resident band "Witchazel". We booked Gordon to play (he was a child prodigy :lol...

When I first saw Gordon

The sig says most of it! I was in a resident folk band Witchazel at the Sloop Inn on the Isle of Wight from the late 60's to 1970. It was a fabulous venue with doors that opened wide onto Wootton Creek on hot summer nights. I doubled up as the booking agent and every three or four weeks we could act...

String changing procedure

Well it does say this is the place for guitar anoraks :D When any of you change a full set of strings (and particularly interested in what Gordon does), do you a.) change one at a time, thus keeping the same tension on the neck, or b) take the old set off and then replace with the new one? I was tol...

Sound Hole PU's

..............forgot to ask...what about contact pick-ups like the Barcus Berry range.

Personally I have only had feedback problems from these and remember famous folk rock groups stuffing towels into their guitars to stop excessive vibration!?

Thanks

Hi Reini. Good to hear from you from way across the globe! Yes, I use the Fishman Rare Earth blend Humbucking pickups. I love em. and for me they do the business! Warm Regards. Gordon. A newbie is born.....

Hi Apologies if this has been answered in the past, but I've only just found the forum. I used to play in the late 60s/early 70s folk circuit and that is where I first met and heard Gordon play, as I was a resident band member and artist booker for the Isle of Wight Folk Club. My problem is, after a...
