Gordon Giltrap - Guitar Maestro DVD

For some time I have longed to have a copy of the Gordon Giltrap Guitar Maestro DVD that I could play here in the US. I had searched the usual websites many times, including Amazon where I optained a US format Double Vision DVD, but I could not find it. At the recent Sheffield concert I saw the DVD ...

Sheffield May 24, 2012

Well, I arrived back in North Carolina yesterday afternoon and after all the unpacking the first thing I wanted to do was post a review of the excellent Sheffield concert I attended on May 24th. My trip to England was my second visit in 12 months, but only my third in 6 years. The timing of the trip...

Sheffield

I will be leaving to fly to England on Wednesday evening and I am really looking forward to seeing the Greystones, Sheffield gig on the 24th. While I probably won't risk taking my four year old Gordon Giltrap fan with me, I will be accompanied by my brother and may recruit another attendee. You need...

Re: Hi there - first post.....

Hi Ian. I originally made an attempt to play in my teens with the help of "Play in a Day", but did not keep going beyond my teens. After a very active business life that kept other interests to a minimum, I wasn't sure whether it was too late to pursue a desire to learn music and in partic...

Bert Weedon

I have just read that Bert Weedon has passed away at the age of 91. His "Play in a Day" book was my first introduction to guitar playing as a child. I well remember trying to hold the guitar and strum Bobby Shaftoe. He was quite an influence upon many guitarists of the 1960's and 70's. RIP...

Re: Double Vision DVD & CD

Not wishing to keep this going, but I thought you might like to know the latest from your smallest fan in the USA. Last weekend while we were away to celebrate our wedding anniversary Ethan stayed with his grandparents, who’d had to buy (at his request) a Gordon Giltrap CD so that he could still lis...

Double Vision DVD & CD

I know I am a bit behind the times here, but as part of this year's Valentine from my wife I received the Double Vision DVD and CD. I had downloaded a couple of the CD tracks from iTunes, but I had assumed there would not be a US format DVD available and never checked. Both the DVD and CD are excell...

Re: Sheffield, May 24 Concert!

Hi Gordon, I will certainly say hello - thank you for the offer. It's a long time since I have visited Sheffield - I think the venue must be on the Peak District side which is great. If I could have made it to Fowey or Evesham or one of the bigger venues I would have done, but I am nevertheless very...

Sheffield, May 24 Concert!

This is just to let you know that I booked a visit back to England today and immediately after my flights were confirmed I ordered tickets for Gordon's Sheffield gig on May 24th. I don't know that part of England particularly well, but the venue fits with my schedule and will be the easiest to get t...

Re: CLIFFORD T WARD.

I know this thread is old, but as I am a new member I just wanted to add my 2 cents. I have also long thought CTW was an underrated singer-songwriter. My playlist of his music includes the classics Gaye and Home Thoughts from Abroad that have endured and aged well, along with Wherewithal, Where Woul...

Hi - A First Post From Across the Pond

Hi Everyone, This is just a first hello from your newest member. I have been a fan of Gordon's music since buying the 12 inch single of Fear of the Dark in the late 70's! I now live in North Carolina between the Appalachian (Dreaming) Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. It is a beautiful place, but it...
