I have a copy of Giltrap on tape. I still enjoy listening to it, alas it is deteriorating and I fear it will never be available on CD. :(

The new Requinto

It is certainly a very beautiful instrument and I am intrigued by the concept of threaded bushes in the neck to take miniature capos to stop the 1st string. It looks like there are four...

William Ackerman (Windham Hill)

Having been a fan of Windham Hill music and many of the artists associated with it (George Winston, Michael Hedges, Scott Cossu, Alex de Grassi & Mark Isham to name but 5 of a hugely distinguished list) a few weeks ago I treated myself to a book of Will Ackerman's pieces. I was fairly astonished...

The Dodo's Dream is a favourite of mine (I've stuck my own video on YouTube) and is played in standard tuning EADGBE. What might help you is that Gordon has posted a good close-up video of the piece which can be found at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awcH8FO3uqA It gives a clear view of the finger...

Thanks for putting up the videos, Steve. I have watched quite a few of them and will catch up with the rest later in the week. Looks like it was a good party! :)

My copy of "Vintage Giltrap" arrived this morning. The quality is much the same as for "Troubador": a 56 page stapled book with a cardboard cover and a good weight of paper for the business part of it. The engraving is by Steve Marsh and is of a high standard. There are no blurre...

Jason Carter

I have just come across Jason by way of an email newsletter. He is a British harp guitarist and his site can be found at http://www.jasoncarter.net/. He has a videos page (and also a page of audio-only offerings) and they are well worth viewing/listening to. Some of his pieces are reminiscent of the...
