Re: Telecasters

Hi Roger, the hardware is from wherever I can source it to be honest. Even budget suppliers seem to be able to publish specs on their products these days so choosing becomes easier. CH Guitars, Allparts and Axes 'R' Us are always good bets. Gordon - I chose modern Filterons as they are tappable and ...

Re: Telecasters

Thought I may as well try and keep this thread alive; I have just embarked on a fairly 'high-end' Tele build. The neck is Allparts one piece flame maple bolted to a blue lacquered flame maple capped mahogany body. Hardware is chrome and pickups are 'tappable' Gretsch Filterons. I'll try and post a p...

Sorry not been around much!

Hello all - sorry not been present here lately, but life has been rather frantic; some good some bad. Ash's band The Blues Machine had another very successful tour of europe which took up a lot of our time, and his folk/rock band Fish out of Water have been busy doing festivals to great aclaim. On a...

Re: Telecasters

Thinking about it, it would probably be shorter to compile a list of guitarists that own or play a Tele!!

Re: Telecasters

Ha ha!! Well there is nothing quite like being put on the spot like that!! I think there is a common thread that runs through all Teles, be they hundred quid nameless Chinese ones or thousands of pounds worth of custom shop models, and that is geometry. All these guitars regardless of value or make ...

Re: How bad is the damage in these frets and the fretboard?

To be honest, you are really the only one who can answer this question. If it plays OK for you, then ignore the fret wear, if it is causing problems, then get a re-fret. I wouldnt be too worried about the wear to the the rosewood board if I were you as quite a lot of it is likely to be caused by 'br...

Mandolins

OK guys - anyone have any thoughts on the subject of flatback mandolins? I have owned a number of budget mandolins over the years and have never been really happy with any of them. Time has come to look for a new 'family' madolin tha Ash and I can share for both studio and live work. The main criter...

Re: Ash's birthday guitar

Well, we have been back for a week since our visit to Rob's and Ash has had a chance to put the guitar through it's paces at a gig. The overall impression of the guitar is firstly that it is stuningly beautiful, and secondly sounds amazing. The personal touches that Ash requested ('V' profile neck e...
