Bert Weedon

Sorry to hear of another loss to the British guitar scene. Bert's influence on young players, including GG, will never be surpassed.

I remember those TV lessons and thought of him as a very nice man.

Re: The Making of "Bridge Over Troubled Water"

Was it 1965 I was lucky to see Paul Simon in my Local Folk Club, the Railway Tavern, Catford!? Time flys!

Another young lad that went a on to greater things. BOTW was only one of many albums that were inspired. In my humble opinion.

Re: The Shining Morn Concert - Birmingham Town Hall

My old friend Gordon Giltrap will be dedicating his next concert on the 10th October at Birmingham Town Hall to the memory of the great Bert Jansch.
I really wish I could be there as I am sure it will be a night to remember, as I know Gordon was a very close friend of Bert. I hope all who can will t...

Re: When / where did you first see Gordon play?

Well I could go on about the ‘Sixties’ but I have forgotten a lot of it! However it was probably 1963 when at a pub in Blackheath Road, Greenwich South-east London, where my friends Bill & his sister Frances McGillivray were playing in their band that, in their break, Gordon did his bit. A frien...

Re: Bert Jansch

I send my sympathy to all Bert’s family and close friends.

I am one of those who could only marvel at his artistry and will always think of him whenever I pick up my guitar, as I have done since his first album.

Sad to hear the news about Don Partridge. I remember you inviting Micheal Ayre and myself to Don’s house to take some photo’s of Accolade for publicity, he was not in the mood to be co-operative. Having said that I can remember he could be charming, letting me try his big Gibson hanging on the wall!...

Davy Graham

Sad to hear that Davy Graham died on Monday.

As long as guitars are made there will always be someone playing Angie.

Great if you can, remember the last time you had a hit record i believe! Be nice if history repeated itself wouldn't it.

Let us know nearer the time if you can.

Bye for now.

Dinner?

Hilary & Gordon,

Don't forget our invitation still stands if you are on the Island the night before or after your gig in Jan'09.

Looking forward to seeing you in the new year, in the mean time Happy Christmas.
