4Parts Guitar - Grantham - 16 /4 /2015

The Lincolnshire town of Grantham will forever be (in)famous as the birth place of Margaret Thatcher and the place where Sir Isaac Newton – whose statue is directly adjacent the Arts Centre - received an education. It is perhaps less well known as the hometown of actor, quiz show host and national t...

Re: St Nicholas Church Radford Semele - Gordon's Birthday Ba

I was particularly looking forward to visiting the church of St.Nicholas at Radford Semele. By courtesy of the local arsonist, on Easter 2008 the church had been left essentially a roofless shell with tower attached – and scorch marks still plainly visible on the exterior bear witness to the conflag...

Re: TIME TO REFLECT

Hi All, My copy arrived Sunday morning having been ordered from said on line retailer at 0832 on Saturday with free delivery. Can't complain at that service - don't understand why some of you are having to wait so long. It's been a busy week - saw my son, Graham, off to Canada to live and work for a...

Sutton Coldfield - 7 / 11 / 2014

The evening of Friday 7th November found the Smiling One and I inexorably drawn to the Duke Street church in The Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield. We were to witness a performance by a certain virtuoso guitarist of our acquaintance – and by so doing we were able to assist his continuing, unpretentious...

Re: I Was 64

I apologise sincerely to those of a sensitive nature for any alarm and distress caused by the appearance of my image — this was completely beyond my control. Mike, It was both a pleasure and a privilege to attend and be a part of the celebrations for your special day. May you candle of life burn slo...

Bishop Itchington - 23 / 9/ 2014

Although I very seldom attend Gordon’s weekday concerts simply because I have to arise at stupid o’clock in the morning for work, when I received an e-mail from Rev. Martin Green inviting me to revisit the delightful St. Michael’s church for “an evening of guitar artistry and song”, I just knew that...

Sutton Coldfield - 5 / 9 / 2014

What an absolutely stunning venue!!! The ARTifex gallery specializes in contemporary British art and crafts – housing designer/craftsman made furniture, glass, ceramics, metal and woodwork, sculpture, original paintings and much more. Even a cultural heathen such as I can appreciate that the pieces ...

12 eh? TWELVE?????????????? Steady on Mike, you are dealing with forces beyond our comprehension here that may have catastrophic global consequences. :D :D Seriously - really pleased that concert was a success. I had intended to dash down to Aston on my mechanical horse but Fiona and I had a very ea...

Royston Folk Club - 27 / 6 /2014

The Shipping Forecast uses the words “precipitation within sight” to describe the meteorological onslaught experienced on my journey to Royston Folk Club – good thing I was in a metal box instead of trundling down on my trusty iron horse. A road closure and diversion added to the adventure, and I ar...

Hi Roger,

By extraordinary coincidence I have just retuned from Woburn Safari Park - the coach entrance for which is in Husborne Crawley. Spooky or what?

I am planning to attend the Royston gig myself. Are you to be accompanied by Ethan or your other half? See you there.
