Re: Telecasters

Just watched a really good documentary over here which included some wonderful Joe Walsh Telecaster playing.

Can't believe I missed him off the Telecaster player list. A great player who managed to get his life back from the brink.

Re: POORLY SUE HOLTON

Ouch! That all sounds pretty uncomfortable.

Best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery.

All the best,

Roger

PS All that going on and you can still dispense me advice on Gordon's forthcoming concerts!

Re: Another great Giltrap reissue...

I have always loved the photo on the cover of Drifter, an album that includes Gordon's best bonus disc ever: Live at Huntingdon Hall. I can't lay my hands on the CD just now, but from memory was the photo taken by Hilary somewhere in the south-west? I also like the On a Summer's Night cover, no doub...

Re: Watlington - 6/7/2013 - Double Vision.

Sounds like a good concert. Your third GG gig in less than two months! I would love to get to a Double Vision performance, but the rare performance dates have never coincided with a visit. The Double Vision DVD was Ethan's original introduction to Gordon's music and when he was small, family members...

Re: Packington - 8 /6 /2013

Ethan spotted you in the pulpit and asked me to lift him up to see the "yellow". I held him up to take a look. I didn't see you myself and hadn't given it another thought until you appeared today. When I showed you to Ethan he said "yes I saw him at Gordon's church". Now he knows...

Welcome Wilf!

Ethan is telling me that he saw you at the Gedling concert - could that be possible?

Hi Gordon,

I made sure I posted my Ravens & Lullabies review on the Amazon UK site before I left England.

All the best,

Stickford Church

To complete our visit back to England we visited Stickford Church in Lincolnshire where the Gordon Giltrap and Raymond Burley, Double Vision - In Vision DVD was filmed seven years ago. We had meant to visit last year and didn't make it, but Ethan was keen to make sure we didn't miss out this year. F...

Re: My poorly wife.

Get well soon Hilary! I did see your heavily bandaged foot at the Gedling concert. You were deep in conversation with people I didn't know at the time and as a stranger I didn't feel I should interrupt to introduce myself and wish you a speedy recovery in person. Now I have seen this thread I can be...

Re: Gedling - 24 / 5 /2013

It was a pleasure to meet both you and Ethan, Roger. Ethan's response to my question, "So do you have ONE favourite Gordon piece, Ethan?" "No; they're ALL my favourites!" will remain with me for a long, long time. :D ... and Ethan's souvenir CD is even now winging it's way to No...

Re: Gedling - 24 / 5 /2013

There isn't much I can add by way of a concert review to Keith's excellent piece, but I would like to say a big thank you to everyone we met on the night for making us feel so welcome. Ethan and I travelled over to the Gedling concert with my brother (now his third concert in just over 12 months) an...

Re: Telecasters

For sure Chrissie Hynd.

I think Mike Oldfield was primarily a Telecaster player in the 70's. Well I say primarily....that is when he was playing a guitar.

I am sure there are others!
