Re: Alsager last night

Hi Mike Didnt come and speak, afraid I have a shyness tendency at times I think its due to being in awe of skilled people Crazy really I work in a school and stand in front of 30 students 5 times a day. Humans can be complex at times.. Must be satisfying for you to work with such talent All the best...

Alsager last night

Hi Gordon Just wanted to say thanks for a superb concert (as always) last night. A good venue for your music I felt, despite the hooligans. (we do have them here but they are more affluent than some others) Good to see Mike Stranks in the flesh as it were, as you said he did a smashing job he clearl...

Bert Jansch Celebration

Hi Gordon
Jusr wondered if you had heard about a celebration concert of Berts music at the Royal Festival Hall in December.
It features artists including members of Pentangle, Ralph Mctell, Bernard Butler as well as others.
Would have thought you were the man to perform Angie
Best wishes

Re: Bert Jansch

Hi Gordon Just like to say that in my opinon Avocet the album as.a body of work is very underestimated and perhaps not as well known as it should be. It probably lacks commercial appeal but iits quality is non the less for it. Other users of this site please take note I think you wouldlike it. I agr...

Re: Acoustic Routes. DVD

Hi Gordon Thank you for being so open it makes following and supporting an artist so much more worthwhile. I hope your idea comes to fruition and is something I woukd certainly support by purchasing the resulting tribute. I know little about the inner workings of the music world so am unable to be o...

Re: Acoustic Routes. DVD

Hi Gordon I have a book called Dazzling Stranger but was not aware of a DVD of that name. I was curious about your comment about needing 'a tad more support' in trying to keep the memory of Loren and Bert alive. Would you be prepared to elaborate on that or is it a personal thing as so many people s...

Re: Telecasters

Hi Gordon
Thanks for the advice.
I feel you are probably right and of course I am not Jeff Buckley
Little talent and a reluctance to fork out too much money often sends me down guitar blind alleys
All the best
Kevin

Back to your original idea for the thread sorry if I slightly took it off topic

Re: Telecasters

Gordon.. This interesting I am not an electric man but recently heard an album by Jeff Buckley called Live at sin-e. On this he plays a Telecaster(there are pictures on the sleeve) and I love its rawness. So anyway Argos have a Squier which is the same colour as Buckleys for. £140 Bearing in mind wh...
