Re: Buzz from Strings on GG Guitar

Eigth of a turn at a time and you wont go wrong. Also, as a matter of interest, what you hear is often at the opposite end of the guitar. If I hear bridge end buzz I will first look at the top nut and check for loose machine heads!

Re: Maple Fretboard Care

Roger, lemon oil is a cleaner, not a wood feeder. It is great for removing grease and crud from the fingerboard, and of course, will work great on a maple board as it will be varnished anyway. With a rosewood or ebony board, NEVER soak it in lemon oil as it will remove any natural oils in the wood a...

Re: Acoustic Amplifiers

Ok guys, the first thing you need to understand is that what you want is not a guitar amp at all, it is a small PA in a box that can sit behind you on stage. The cheapest and simplist acoustic amp would be a powered foldback monitor because at the end of the day, that is all the audience will hear i...

Re: GG 12 String Possible Issue

I think there are several factors at play here - firstly, the 12 hasn't had the R&D that the 6 has, ie 30 years of proving itself as a stable guitar! Secondly, as I believe the 12 was rushed out fairly quickly by the factory I would guess that a few 'rogues' got through their usually vigorous QA...

Re: Crafter Acoustic Problem

My suggeston would be to first look at the strings..they will change far faster than the guitar will. When the tension in the strings start to go the neck will naturally straighten leading to the risks of choking or buzzes. I f you think about it, you are always fighting a battle against your string...

The Blues Machine annual update.

Just thought I'd bring you guys up to speed with what's happened this year with Ash and the boys. The Blues Machine have enjoyed a busy year despite exam pressures and have even managed to release a new album 'More than ever' which has received great reviews and a fair bit of radio airplay. The band...

Re: GG SIGNATURE GUITAR MIA AWARD WINNER

Well, to be honest it just confirms what the rest of us have known for a long time!!! A great luthier, a great guitar, and a great player, and finally a great company that recognises that there is a commercial future in supporting excellence!

Re: Tele Question for Russ

Hello Rog, sorry about the late response!! The first thingI'd like to say is that there is one thing all these guitars have in common is that they ALL sound like Telecasters. There is something about the basic Tele layout which means that irrespective of price, they all end up souning pretty well ho...

Re: Acoustic Amp

If you can afford to wait a bit, keep an eye on Ebay for a Torque TA100 or TA50. Obviously, it depends what you want to do with it, but if you need very loud, omni-directional acoustic projection in noisy environments (ie on stage with a band) no one has yet equalled what Torque came out with ten or...

Re: The Holy Grail!

Well, it turned up and has exceeded all expectations! The guitar itself is amazing despite having a very weird short scale neck. There is no change in depth to the neck from end to end, which actually makes it feel chunkier near the nut and slimmer up at the heal! The pick-up is amazing and sounds l...

The Holy Grail!

As the head of the ancient order of Masonite Templars of Neptune......I am pleased to report that I have just found the holy grail. It has disguised itself as a 1966 Silvertone 1451 short scale single pick-up Hornet and comes complete with 3 watt valve 'amp in case' hard case....all in excellent wor...
