Re: The Last of England - CD

After making do with playing my iTunes download, my CDs arrived yesterday. They arrived in less than a week from the order date. They were well packaged and arrived in perfect condition, which is very rare for any CDs shipped to me from the UK. Well done Angel Air Records!

Re: John Wetton

Hi Roger,

What a great moment saying hello to John Wetton and seeing him perform in Poole! I didn't realize he had performed with Gordon and Oliver at that gig (or my memory is failing me....). I have just watched the You Tube link.

That was a real bonus night for you!

All The Best,

Roger

John Wetton

I have just seen that John Wetton of King Crimson, Asia and others, has joined that ever growing super-group in the heavens.

King Crimson's album "Red", a favorite of mine, was one of his very best.

Re: Ukulele, Guitalele, Banjolele and suchlike

Hi Oldbones, No I don't play the ukulele or guitalele, I have dabbled, but put it under the category of not as easy as it looks. Obviously I found the guitalele easier of the two, but I will stick with the guitar for now. That said I love some of Jake Shimabukuro's ukulele music and I had the opport...

Re: Vintage VE2000GG 12 string - my experience

Hi Oldbones, I have been away and have only just finished catching up on the past week's postings including the terribly sad news about your wife's passing. I just wanted to add my condolences, and let you know your are in my thoughts as you go through what must be a very difficult time. Music can b...

Re: The Last of England - CD

I couldn't agree more, it's a wonderful album! This version of The Last of England is the best in my opinion, it's beautiful with a lot of emotion in the piece. I always liked the painting and the story behind it. The whole Brotherhood Suite flows together beautifully and the collaboration with Paul...

Re: Greg Lake

Yes, a sad loss. Greg Lake produced some great music with both King Crimson and ELP. I rediscovered my ELP collection earlier this year just before Keith Emerson's death and only in recent months took the time to learn Greg Lake's "From The Beginning" on guitar. Both gone in the same year....

Hi Roger,

Sorry, I have only just read this message. I hope you are taking things easy and if you received your results on Friday I hope it was good news.

Take some much needed rest if you can, and lean on Em.

All The Best,

Roger

Re: The News

I couldn't agree more Piotr! It' is great to read all the news and see that wonderful poster from December 1990 - what a selection of bands! That month I was moving back to the UK after three years in Hong Kong - it's hard to believe all that was happening 26 years ago! I am also enjoying the rare t...

Re: Bishops Cleeve - October

It's great to hear that the concert went well, the first of many more hopefully. It was also good to read all the news in this month's newsletter - there's clearly a lot happening which is hopefully a continued good sign that Gordon is slowly but surely returning to full health. I am just about to h...

Re: Mitchell Centre - 17 / 7 / 2016

Hi Keith, As always it's a pleasure to read your concert review, although this time it's a particular pleasure to hear that Gordon did so well. I can't believe he ended up playing for an hour and finished with Lucifer's Cage! That's not exactly easing your way back gently? Great news. All The Best, ...
