'On Camber Sands' used on BBC local news

Just watching our local BBC news programme, Look North, when all of a sudden 'On Camber Sands' starts playing. The news item was about the Gateshead Flower Show. Its nice when one of Gordons tunes pops up out of nowhere. Are Gordons tunes in some kind of music library? or do the BBC commission these...

Gordon Giltrap on Guitar Heros - BBC4

I was watching BBC4's More Guitar Heros late last night. It was the usual thing, Jimi Hendrix, Ry Cooder, AC/DC, Johnny Winter, Thin Lizzy, Free, then a very young Gordon Giltrap with his band performing Lucifer's Cage. Good to see Gordon in there. The info/text that pops up mentioned Gordon paying ...

Newton was a student of the late Eric Roche, and you can hear alot of Erics style in Newtons playing. Newton even plays the same make of guitar as Eric, handmade by Nick Benjamin.

'As It Happens' CD

I was just flicking through the October/November issue of Acoustic magazine, and there it was, an advert for a new Gordon Giltrap CD called 'As It Happens...' The advert says:- The first complete Gordon Giltrap concert ever released. Recorded this year, over two hours of music and chat on a double C...

Rob Armstrong Guitar Owners

I was just wondering how many Rob Armstrong Guitar owners we had here on Gordons Forum. Mine is a small/parlour size acoustic with aged Spruce top and Teak back and sides, made in Feb 2004. It sounds amazing. A very well rounded sound with plenty of volume. The small dimentions of the body make it v...

I miss Isaac alot. He Lived in Newcastle, and often played at local venues such as The Customs House in South Shields or The Buddle in Wallsend, so I saw him countless times from the late 80's until his last gig in November 2000. It was great to discover those clips on YouTube. The picture quality i...

The 1st time I saw Gordon was also on the One to One tour with Ric back in '88. The things that stick in my mind were the Rob Armstrong guitars, and the tech-setup 'Tyson'. Since then, I've seen Gordon everytime he's played the in North East area, either solo, or sharing the bill with other guitaris...
