Coming late to this party (and I guess that you may already have bought something) but there are loads of good choices in that kind of price range. The two that spring to mind to me would be... https://www.andertons.co.uk/bass-dept/bass-amps/bass-amp-combos/ashdown-studio-8-bass-combo-20w-1-x-8 http...

Re: Specs for VE2000GG DLX
It's worth having a look at this video by Bob Taylor, the founder of Taylor guitars from a few years ago about the ebony that we use for guitar building. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anCGvfsBoFY The pure black ebony that we have become used to is simply a tiny fraction of the perfectly good ebony...

He had a female singer with his band ( maybe Annie Haslam?) and it was absolutely brilliant.
Most likely the fabulous Shirley Roden - wonderful singer. Check out the Live At Oxford live CD for more of her singing...

Re: Ukulele, Guitalele, Banjolele and suchlike
Uke has gone so very far beyond Tiny Tim. Have a check out of my lovely friend Victoria Vox. She did a music degree at Berklee College of Music in Boston, struck out as a singer songwriter and then got sucked into the uke as her first love... http://www.victoriavox.com/music http://thebeatlescomplet...

Roger, the album is an absolute cracker! You'll love it. Paul Ward has done an amazing job enhancing the songs (and I'm particularly chuffed that the song that closes the album came out so amazingly as it's a wee bit special to me!).

I'd agree. My wife has a Norman B20 Folk which she bought years ago and which is still a lovely sounding and playing guitar. Any of the guitars from the Godin stable represent really good value for money. I'm sure that I read somewhere that they get subsided tonewoods produced from Canadian forest m...

Re: VE2000GG versus VE2000DLX guitars
Didnt bother tossing a coin just ordered the VE2000DLX got to wait around a week for delivery now Mel Suspect that was the sensible option if saving some pennies isn't a factor. The solid rosewood back and sides and other woods in the DLX will be a higher quality than on the standard where the maho...

Re: Gordon's albums: what do you listen to most often?
For me my top 10 in approximate order is absolutely... 1) Fear of The Dark 2) Visionary 3) Troubadour 4) Perilous Journey 5) Guitarist (an obscure compilation from the early 1990s - only CD recording I've ever seen of the single version of Heartsong and an amazing acoustic version of Lucifer's Cage)...

Aaaah, turns out I'm way behind the times. I've not looked at what GG has on iTunes in ages... On the basis that I'll have them all on CD anyway... Had a look in the UK end of the iTunes Store and, lo and behold, there are a load of GG albums that used to be hard to come by, including Live in Concer...

The rare "Gordon Giltrap Live at the BBC" album...
While I was putting together my personal Giltrap radio show on Spotify I noticed that the "Live at the BBC" album is now available for streaming on the service - albeit mislabelled simply as "Gordon Giltrap - Live in Concert". The album was origianlly released on the "Windso...
