Re: Simon and Patrick 12 String
Hello Dave Yes...Simon and Patrick are good quality guitars for modest money. They are from the same family of Canadian guitars which fall under the banner of Godin as is Norman,Seagull and the Godin electric guitars. I wouldn't let the experience with the Norman put you off the brand as a whole. My...

Re: Rusty Strings
Hi Matt I had a problem a year or so ago with the plain strings on a set of Elixir's. When I contacted the company they were horrified and asked me to send the strings to them to have a look at.They then sent me three sets by way of apology.I think that's brilliant customer service.I like changing m...

Re: Help on choosing my next acoustic
Hi Matt You have a nice choice to make here.... Having a mahogany Vintage GG myself and having played a Deluxe model I think you couldn't go far wrong with one of those. I think you can say that some guitars are good because they are a modest price or have good features but the quality and value of ...

Re: Les Pauls
Good one Roger :D I love Les Paul's,they always seem to me to have so much more effort into making them with the set-neck and carved top. The thick tone doesn't suit everyone though and wouldn't sound right for certain types of music, they do seem to have come down in price relatively speaking. Gibso...

Re: Stratocasters
What a great topic this is!
Iv'e always preferred Gibsons to Fenders but my favourite Strat player would have to be Ritchie Blackmore...
He's no mean acoustic player either and a huge fan of GG..so good taste all round
Maybe we could start a Les Paul thread?
Best wishes to all

Re: Another great Giltrap reissue...
Hi everyone I received my reissue albums yesterday and what a superb overall package they are with a very generous amount of extra tracks, pictures and thoughts from Gordon on each album. As someone who tends to listen more to Gordon's acoustic music rather than the GG band it's opened a real interes...

Re: Telecasters
Favourite Telecaster players....? My favourite Telecaster tone was early Robbie Robertson of The Band,I know he used a strat more later on but on early records and particularly the live album "Rock of Ages" he used a telecaster with a humbucker at the neck and got a huge sound. I love Tele...

Re: My Rob Armstong guitar
I think Trevor is bang on with that assessment.
I thought at first it might be Ovangkol back and sides but i'm sure it will be indian rosewood.
What a great combination Cedar and rosewood are for a guitar!
I'll have to repeat myself and say what a beauty it is.

Re: My Rob Armstong guitar
What a beauty..
I wouldn't mind a strum of it,bet it sounds great too!!
I love the shapes of Rob's guitars, they are always a bit unusual.
A lucky chap indeed to own this one!
