Re: Panormo influenced guitar build.

Thank you so much Gordon. Means a lot coming from your goodself. The bridge was inspired by the Lacote guitar bridges (also Tony Zemaitis!). The Panormo bridge is wonderful but I thought I would go for something a little different.

Re: Panormo influenced guitar build.

I have finally finished making my "Panormo" inspired classical guitar. I'm letting the strings settle and playing the guitar in for a week or so then I will finish off smoothing off the corners on the nut and saddle. Only other thing left to do is fit the ebony strap button at the base of ...

Re: Zither banjo's

I have moved all pictures of my Zither banjo collection to a new webpage due to the annoying amount of pop up adverts on the old link.
Anyone interested can view my collection here:

Re: Ukulele, Guitalele, Banjolele and suchlike

What I saw looked fascinating but my computer is rather long in the tooth (like me) and the constant barrage of pointless adverts slowed it down so much that I gave up. However, I think we can safely say that you are definitely a fully accredited member of the UASS (UAS Society). With regard to the...

Re: Panormo influenced guitar build.

Due to an annoying amount of adverts that keep popping up on Photobucket I have moved the pictures to a more user friendly webpage. If you are interested in my Panormo build, please view them here: https://www.flickr.com/gp/150942760@N02/sthus2 There are a lot of pictures, so if you are not too inte...

Zither banjo's

Any fans of the old Zither banjo's? I only recently got into banjo's....to be honest I always liked them but never owned any and even tried to. I was given an old Windsor Zither which dated from around 1900 and it was in a shocking state. I spent months restoring it and it is now a superb instrument...

Re: Ukulele, Guitalele, Banjolele and suchlike

I really love ukulele's and ukulele banjo's. I have a number of vintage/antique ukulele banjo's and they all have their own character. Tiny Tim was brilliant. It's not until you listen to his album tracks that you realise the greatness of his style and playing.....and his voice wasn't always high pi...

Panormo influenced guitar build.

Hi, I have been beavering away in my cousins guitar workshop after he "bludgeoned" me into making my own acoustic guitar, which I had never done before. I decided to make a guitar based on the wonderful Panormo guitar models of the 1800's. A slight twist is that I fancied adding a "mo...

Re: How to string a Norman B20?

I've been playing 12 string acoustic since the mid 1970's. I've tried varying gauges of strings over the years but settled on .010 - .047. I've tried heavier strings but I am a flat picker and found heavier strings a little difficult to work with, especially with things like hammer on's and pull off...
