Re: VIntage. GG Deluxe

Now that it is on the JHS website (at an amazing affordable price),is there any chance of a sound sample on you tube Gordon?

Re: What do people on the fourm think of Elixirs?

I've used Elixir Phospher Bronze Nanoweb 11's on all my guitars for many years and find that they have the tone, playability and longevity that suits me. I found the Elixir Polyweb a bit too slippery particularly when moving from open chords to bar chords further up the neck.

Re: Deluxe GG

Any other hints? Will it be the same size and shape, have a cutaway, all solid woods? Mmmmm 2013 now seems a long way off.

Re: GG 12 String Possible Issue

Thanks Sue, I've just had a look at his shop and he has a number of other Vintage guitars with more minor issues going quite cheaply.

Re: GG 12 String Possible Issue

The ebay auction for the faulty guitar finished yesterday with a winning bid of just over £157 (click link on first post above to verify). Today the same seller has put up another GG 12 string on ebay with exactly the same problem and description. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VINTAGE-VE2000GG-12-GORDON...

Re: GG 12 String Possible Issue

Good advice Russ. The guitar on ebay went for £157. I was not prepared to go that high just in case further repairs prove costly (the GG 12 string guitar anyway can be picked up new and without fault on ebay for under £400). I am currently selling my Faith Neptune High Gloss so I should be able to f...

Re: Buzz from Strings on GG Guitar

Thanks Russ. The problem turned out not to be as a result of set up. There are apparently two screws holding the bridge in place with securing nuts on the underside of the table. One or both had come loose resulting in the buzzing. The guys at the music shop, where I bought the guitar, found this ou...

Re: GG 12 String Possible Issue

Thanks Gordon for your response. Having seen the picture of the guitar in the ebay auction would you think it a reasonable prospect given the bridge still seems a little lifted? It is going to go for quite a low price. As far as string are concerned would you think 10's and de-tuned one tone from co...

GG 12 String Possible Issue

I have been looking to buy a 12 string and already having a Gordon Giltrap 6 string I was considering the GG 12. However I have seen two up on ebay recently that have had problems with a bowing body and lifting bridge (including the one on the link below) and was wondering if there was an inherent p...

Re: What stell string guitars to consider?

A Fylde Alchemist might be a good bet but maybe a little above budget unless you can pick one up second hand.

Re: Buzz from Strings on GG Guitar

Thanks to Gordon and Bob for their help so far. Just one question, when I turn the truss rod anti-clockwise do I have the head stock closest to me whilst looking down the neck towards the body or the body of the guitar closest? If I get it the wrong way around anti-clockwise becomes clockwise.
