Deluxe GG

As a proud owner of a giltrap signature guitar, I was intrigued to see a mention of a "GG Deluxe" vintage guitar in Gordon's latest news update! Does anyone have any clue what this version of the guitar might entail? - Perhaps I should begin saving..... :)

Re: Buying advice

Thanks Richard and Piotr, and I would absolutely buy tickets for preston reed I saw him a weeks ago in huddersfield, and although he was actually a tiny bit rusty on some of his old pieces, he some new ones which weren't on any album yet, and they blow everyone away. The sad thing was that this phen...

Re: Buying advice

Glad you liked it! There are more however :) Links are below, please excuse a) the sound quality and b) fairly rusty playing on some of the pieces (bari improv in particular is abysmal), but i think the video quality is good enough to give people an idea of the character of the guitar- springy bass,...

Re: Buying advice

Well I woudn't say Im one hell of a player just yet, but acoustic guitar certainly has become something of a passion! Even so, the only way I could justify something like this is the low price, and the fact that I really don't have any other hobbies that cost any money. Even so, having bought my GG ...

Buying advice

Hi again everyone, Got another agonising dilemma- I've dicovered a Harp Guitar company called Holloway Harp Guitars, which sell (comparitively) cheap harp guitars. New, these are still out of my price range as a 16 year old, but i found this link where they're selling prototypes with minor cosmetic ...

My amazing ve2000gg coincidence :)

I am the proud owner of a ve2000gg signature guitar, and the other day if found that i needed the action on it lowering for the tapping (preston reed etc.) style i like to play. As i walked into my local guitar shop to have this done, i had an odd moment when i thought i was hallucinating because i ...

Re: struggling with roots part 1

struggling with roots part 1

I have been attempting to learn roots part 1 for some time now, and have just figured that i have been playing it totally wrong. I was playing the demisemiquavers (32nd notes) in the peice as semi quavers, and so i was out of time by a quaver. I only noticed this when listening to the piece on you t...

amplification problem

Ive just bought a small marshall amp- if I'm going to use this to play my giltrap-signature electro-acoustic guitar through, how should i set the settings on the amp to get the best, clearest, acoustic tone possible? (i.e. as close to an acoustic amp as possible, without any distortion) Thanks a lot...

ovation elite query

I'm considering buying an ovation elite DS778TX D-Scale guitar, which is a odd guitar that has 2 extra frets, and is tuned to D-G-C-F-A-D, which allows for a very deep, bassy sound if desired, or a completely normal guitar if you capo the 2nd fret. It seems like a good complement to my ve2000gg -whi...

my ve2000gg signature guitar review

Hello! My ve2000gg giltrap signature guitar arrived about a month ago after a long, long wait, and i have finally put it down long enough to write a little review, as their don't seem to be many online. Basically, its amazing- its lightweight and the unusal shape is surprisingly comfortable, as well...
