Shining Birmingham

Hi Gordon

Many thanks for a great concert last night. What a lovely atmosphere, felt so warm and friendly. Faves of the night for me were Appalachian Dreaming and Here Comes the Sun, but enjoyed it all.

Best wishes, Pauline

Re: CLIFFORD T WARD.

I think I first heard of Clifford on Noel Edmunds' (Sunday morning?) show in the early Radio1 days. Went out and bought Home Thoughts From Abroad LP soon afterwards. Coincidentally, just recently I was prompted to get hold of a compilation cd after finding the Youtube videos Gordon talked about. 'Up...

Yes, B'ham Town Hall is a fantastic venue, lovely atmosphere too. Booked my ticket as soon as I saw they were on sale. Am so looking forward to it!

Re: The Zombies do Heartsong

Earlier impressions were unfounded! Now seen video on July news and makes a HUGE difference hearing entire song rather than listening to short Amazon clip with poor sound quality. Colin sounds great, as always. Interesting too as had wondered whether any of Gordon's music had lyrics written to them.

4 Parts, Worcester 23 Feb

I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed last night's concert at Huntingdon Hall. Clive is a wonderful addition, a perfect complement. Highlights, for me, were Heartsong - such passion, Gordon! John and Ray playing Places Between - divine! and Clive's Oregon - I can't yet find the words to describe t...

Gordon, I read on your news page that you had hopes of doing a Shining morn show in Symphony or Town Hall, Bham. Personally, I think Town Hall is just the perfect place - first time ever I saw you perform was there in 2008, I think...and a pretty full house, wasn't it? I look forward to it happening...

3 Parts Guitar - Lichfield

Many thanks to Mike for posting his Tewkesbury review and photos - you certainly caught the mood. I went to the Lichfield concert on Sunday. The Garrick Theatre's small and intimate, and being close to the musicians, it was fascinating watching the 3 parts playing together, feeling and seeing the en...

Newman College concert

Just to say, Gordon, what a wonderfully joyous occasion this was. Thank you for playing Appalachian Dreaming for me - that was fantastic! I really enjoyed Maddie's playing, too.
I look forward to seeing you again soon, best wishes, Pauline

(As Ace once famously sang) How Long?

Hello, I'm planning to go to either the Crowle or Breadsall concert. Just wondered if someone could give me a rough idea how long these concerts usually are so I can decide whether I can get back on the train or need to book an overnight stay - sadly, I had to leave Huntingdon Hall in January early ...

I would most probably choose Heartsong for my Desert Island Discs list - it's so uplifting! And Appalachian Dreaming is beautiful. Also very high up on my list, if not written by Gordon, are Here Comes the Sun and Martin Taylor's wonderful Green Lady as featured on A MAtter of Time cd. These all do ...

One guitarist leads to another...

...since my first GG experience at B'ham town hall last year, I've also been switched on to Ray Burley and got hold of Double Vision and The Long Road Home. Then, from A MAtter of Time, have been introduced to Martin Taylor, and got a taste for jazz guitar. Wonderful stuff!
