Re: Another cd...

It's pretty magical picking up new (to you) music like that. I still try and treat new CDs the same way I would treat a new album back in the day - plenty of time and attention - after all we had to wait years sometimes between releases. It's all too easy these days to limit new discs to one or two ...

Re: Fear of the Dark 12"

I was listening to the fantastic River Sessions this morning and wondered again about the live version of Inner Dream on the b-side of the 12 inch single. i ought to invest in one from eBay to see if it is different to the one on Live at Oxford. I also wondered about the track 'Passion Fruit' - not ...

Abolutely delighted with this album. How cool to get a new GG album in 2009. First listening I was pleased to hear the best possible combination of GG and RW. Superbly played and recorded once again. I am teaching our three year old son about various instruments and he has asked for "Spring&quo...

GG Band

Hi Gordon Would you do some Gordon Giltrap band concerts with young musicians rather than perhaps your original colleagues? I do a lot of work in schools and colleges and it would make a good project to assemble a band from young musicians. It's the sort of thing you could possible get funding for -...

Live at Huntingdon Hall DVD

Finally treated myself to the DVD which arrived yesterday. Complete rubbish on the telly so watched from start to finish (including out-takes) with the wife. We both enjoyed it tremendously. The wife had not heard any GG other than Heartsong before but her enjoyment means I will have to shell out fo...

Remember This

My other posts elsewhere explained that I was an owner of just the late seventies albums and I decided to buy some later stuff. I received 'Remember This' last week and have to say that the recording quality is the best I have ever heard. I was blown away with it. There are those who still argue abo...

Yes I agree that downloads are rather sterile - I too much prefer looking through sleeve notes and lyric sheets. I have copied some sleeve notes to text files and loaded them on my mp3 player but it is a time consuming thing to do. I think the way we listen to music has changed quite a lot - in my y...

Another new member

Hi everyone Just re-discovering Gordon's music again after deciding to recreate my old vinyl collection on CD. I only had a few singles back in the days but am now happily wearing out Fear of the Dark, Visionary, Perilous Journey and Live at Oxford. Looking forward to buying many others from the bac...

Fear of the Dark 12"

My first post! Probably like many people I've been revisiting a lot of the music I used to have on vinyl. I used to have the 12" copy of Fear of the Dark and I wanted to get the b-side tracks on CD. I remember them being live takes and recently bought "Live at Oxford" which I am reall...
