Classic Rock Society present: GORDON GILTRAP

Concerts are regularly organised by the CLASSIC ROCK SOCIETY, featuring some of the best Rock & Prog artists around.

Our stated core aim is, as it ever was, to foster the growth and development of ‘grass roots’ progressive and general ‘classic’ rock by bringing together like-minded individuals and giving bands who may struggle for gigs a platform to play. These smaller shows are to some extent subsidised by larger profile bands who also play for the Society. As well as our two regular venues near Rotherham (Montgomery Hall in Wath-Upon-Dearne and the Wesley Centre in Maltby), we also regularly use a venue in St Helens (the Citadel), Norwich (Brickmakers), and occasionally the Picturedome in Holmfirth. We are always looking for ways to expand and give the Society a more ‘national’ and less parochial flavour.

This will be a very special show as this will be a launch gig for Gordon’s upcoming biography Perilous Journey, written by Rock Society editor Steve Pilkington. Gordon will play a regular set and also another special section which will see him intersperse stories about his life with music from the period.
