Goosfest 2009 runs from 10 - 17 October.
Goosfest, Goostrey Arts Festival, is a week-long series of events held each year in October designed to enhance still further the cultural life of our small Cheshire village. With a number of day-time and evening events at different venues in and around the village, Goosfest promises to offer something for everyone. The festival will involve both professional and amateur acts across the full spectrum of the arts, some of who live in Goostrey and others from outside. So whether it stand-up comedy, classical, folk or contemporary music, poetry, paintings, photography, pottery or sculpture that turns you on, Goosfest has it.
Over the years the people of Goostrey have demonstrated time and time again that they are willing to enthusiastically back arts events organised locally and it is this admiral tradition of support that has inspired us to arrange such an ambitious programme of events. We hope you will enjoy it and support the various activities throughout the week.
Harvey Andrews is a skilled composer-singer in the folk tradition, producing songs which have meaning and humour: he has released 15 albums of original material, and many of his songs have been covered by other artists. Harvey is widely known through his TV, radio and theatre work: he wrote and sang the theme songs fir the TV series Golden Pennies and The Haunted School, and sang the theme song in the British movie Psychomania. Harvey also teaches song-writing.
This promises to be an exciting evening of contrasting and inspiring music, delivered by two masters of their art.
