A Bert Jansch track that you've never head before soon to be

Postby Trevor Raggatt » Thu Jan 28, 2016 4:18 pm

I had an album to review this month by a chap called Colin Harper. He's quite a well known music journo but "Sunset Cavaliers" will be his first solo album. In the past he wrote a book about Bert Jansch called "Dazzling Stranger: Bert Jansch and the British folk and blues revival" (Bloomsbury, 2000; revised 2006) and was well acquainted with the graet man.

Anyway, one of the tracks on the album is called "Blues For A Green Earth". It's nice enough. However, the album also contains a bonus version of the tune - a duet recorded in 2004 of Bert playing it with Colin, just two acoustic guitars. Of course, Bert's guitar and playing sounds just as fabulous as you would expect.

One worth keeping an eye open when it comes out. The whole album is a realy good listen too...
