anti-bullying song

Kathleen is a student at Rutgers University in New Jersey where my dear friend Judith Morse, the New York conductor teaches. This song has had a response worldwide from young people who have suffered from peer group bullying. I hope you will pass it on to your family and friends Many thanks John htt...

Re: Finding "new" artists

Bernie Chiaravalle has been with Michael McDonald for some time The album you mention is All Or Nothing and it is well produced. The song Always demonstrates his ability to hold a lyric and he is very much under the radar. An acquaintance of mine Anne Kerry Ford has worked with McDonald, her husband...

Yes Trevor that is the guitar, I bought it after contacting Ricky and we went from there. I am not a guitar expert in any way, but this is built to an amazing standard.

Claffey Handmade Guitar

I have recently acquired a guitar from Ricky Claffey the Glasgow luthier.I was interested in the opinion of members who have vast experience of different makes and models and if in fact anyone has first hand experience of such. I think there is information about this guitar on the web site ... mediu...

Re: Quest - a quick summer poll

This topic seems to have legs and that is possibly because so many people have different views and preferences about music. I genuinely believe that all styles of music have the capacity to register with large numbers of people and also that many artists decide to remain within their comfort zone an...

Re: Matthew Halsall

Hello Roger, Matthew Halsall is, as you rightly say, a Manchester based musician who has made an impact on the thriving jazz scene within the UK. The album Colour Yes is worth a listen if you are drawn to his music as it is a superb example of the creativity of these young jazz artists who frequent ...

Pierre Bensusan

Pierre Bensusan last night at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall played a programme of grace and passion to brighten the cold October air. This wonderful artist brings his roots to the fore in every note he plays and is a lesson to behold for the thousand notes a minute brigade. Pierre and Doatea remembere...

Stoke 26/09/15

Superb concert tonight in Stoke Town Hall. It is very difficult to imagine any solo artist in the world holding an audience as mesmerised for two hours as Gordon Giltrap did tonight in the regal surroundings of Stoke's Jubilee Hall. From the delicacy of Isabella's Wedding to the sheer intensity of H...

Re: ROBIN MILLAR

No, but mention of Robin Millar does remind me of a coincidence, as it is certainly nothing more, concerning something asked of me by a friend, 20yrs ago, embarking on a semi professional singing career. One thing always to remember, was the question and I said ... 'sound the end of each word with c...

Re: Quest - a quick summer poll

The road is always there to be travelled and music knows no barriers. I last saw Gordon perform in October 2014, at a lovely church in Cheshire. The venue was sold out and, apart from the concert organiser having a domestic disturbance with one of the doors during the performance, you could hear a p...
