Guest of John Shuttleworth

I have been asked to make a guest appearance with Graham Fellows AKA John Shuttleworth/Jilted John,at Sheffield City Hall on March 30th. It should be a fun filled evening.

My Last Will and Tasty Mint

John Shuttleworth hits the road following appearances on Celebrity Antiques Roadshow and the second series of Radio 4's John Shuttleworth’s Lounge Music for his farewell tour.

A recent health scare (well, a mild bout of sciatica) has made “Sheffield’s finest singer/songwriter” (The Times) focus on his mortality, and the many things he needs to do before the inevitable move into a hospice. Can sole agent, Ken Worthington pull out the stops and make John a star before his retirement?

As well as hilarious new songs, John will bash out the favourites on his trusty Yamaha: . And at the end of it all, a question remains: who should John donate his organs to, or should he just sell them on Ebay?

“Punch The Air To Character Comedy In A Class Of Its Own” The Sunday Times.

Exclusive to the City Hall, John Shuttleworth is joined by Sheffield's own punk icon, Jilted John in a rare appearance with his band performing the 1978 classic hit, Gordon Is A Moron, plus other songs. This follows a triumphant appearance at the UK's premier punk rock festival, Rebellion last August. "Ere we go, 2, 3, 4 !"

Tickets for John Shuttleworth (subject to booking fees) at Sheffield City Hall are available online at www.sheffieldcityhall.co.uk through the ticket hotline on 0114 2 789 789 and in person at the Sheffield City Hall Box Office.

FAST APPROACHING

We now have David Mead on board as our special guest for Sunday. David was for many years the editor of Guitarist magazine and is the current assistant editor of Guitar Technical. David wrote the definitive biography of Martin Taylor and has published many books on the guitar.

He's a fine player and composer and has taught for many years. He has interviewed pretty much every major guitar legend known to man. He is also a Fylde guitar devotee and a nice man. It is a delight to have him as our special guest on the afternoon of the 9th.

There is excellent accommodation nearby at The Old Hall Hotel, Main St, Frodsham, WA6 7AB at very reasonable rates.

The fee for the weekend is £350.

Further details and a programme for the weekend will be available upon registration and payment of a non refundable deposit of £100.

“The centre of Hull’s cultural energy, a sort of entrepreneurial micro-version of the Southbank Centre in London, and the most positive recent sign that the city can create and prosper” – Rowan Moore, The Observer, Feb 2016.

Kardomah94 is the transformation of city centre space to celebrate the region's cultural endeavours - past, present and future. We combine a restaurant, bar and exhibition space with a quirky and intimate venue for memorable visits. All of the City Centre attractions are on our doorstep with convenient public transport, taxi ranks and private parking, free during evenings.

Find us
We’re across from the Guildhall in Hull city centre on main bus routes with nearby taxi ranks and immediate parking all all of the City Centre attractions on our doorstep.

Parking
Many take advanatge of the Princes Quay late night multi-storey car park and there's plenty of on-street parking available right across the road from Kardomah94. Better still, it’s free from 6pm onwards. With our tempting selection of beers and wines, you might want to get a lift/bus/train/taxi home with everything in walking distance.

Book a table
We like to talk, so if you’re planning on paying Kardomah94 a visit and would like to make a reservation, please ring 01482 317941. Walk-ins are more than welcome, but we do recommend booking in advance at peak times – Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays can get booked up weeks in advance, particularly as many enjoy a meal before a chosen performance.

Book event tickets
For many of our events, tickets are available to buy online through EventBrite and Hull Box Office. Tickets are usually available in advance from from Kardomah94 and we try to accommodate the off-chance visit too. Please ring us on 01482 317941 and leave a message regarding tickets and event bookings if we can't get to the phone immediately.

The Stables
is situated in a beautiful rural setting in Wavendon, just to the south east of Milton Keynes and a short drive from central Milton Keynes.

Wavendon Allmusic Plan Ltd (WAP), a registered charity, was founded in 1969 by the world-renowned jazz musicians Dame Cleo Laine and Sir John Dankworth, with an aim to provide a centre of musical activity which would break down barriers between music genres and introduce music to as many people as possible regardless of age or social background.

The vision was realised with the development of The Stables Theatre, in some outbuildings at their home, as a venue for concerts and education activities. In October 2000, the new Stables Theatre opened its doors on a 398 seat auditorium which now presents over 200 concerts and over 200 education sessions each year.

A handling charge of £2.80 applies to all bookings. Online bookings are also subject to a £1.80 per ticket processing fee.
